About the Author

Simon Kellow-Bingham is a writer of middle-grade/YA fantasy books that are full of dragons and ghosts, sorcerers and bandits, secret passages and talking cats. He is a graduate of Middlesex University, London where he studied English Literature and Medieval Poetry.

He has written and published the narrative poem The Stonecutter’s Tale, (2012) and contributed to several short story anthologies.

Simon can usually be found walking the ramparts of local castles, looking for the secret doorway that will lead to the cavern where the dragon is hiding with its gold. The giveaway noise is the rumbling snoring that sounds like distant traffic on a nearby motorway. Don’t be fooled when you hear it. There’s a beastie close by, that’s for sure.

When you find the way in, the best thing to do is to send your ghost through the stone wall, just to check all is well.

Which ghost? You know, the one that befriended you that time around the campfire. They corrected you when you told that story about the haunting of the king. Yes, it’s true, there’s nothing worse than a pedantic ghost.

Simon lives in France where there are more castles than he will ever be able to visit in one lifetime, but it would be rude not to try.

Before moving to France with his family he lived in Somerset in the UK, not far from the legendary town of Glastonbury, with its mysterious hill, the Tor, beneath which, King Arthur is said to sleep. There is a faerie portal in a cave at the bottom of the hill. It’s open to the public. Look out for the signs warning of peculiar forces at work within.
