Last Lift of the Day

A multi-storey car park construction has all of its bones on display. As the steel frame rises up from the ground, and the concrete slabs are hung across its metal ribs, it gradually becomes a building. It has all of its connections and conjunctions exposed. There is an honesty to it. ‘I am a structure,’ it says, ‘it’s what I do.’
